Hawaiian Smoothie!~

Simply chop up your favorite fruits such as bananas; strawberries, pineapple and mango toss them into your blender.  Add either a sugar free apple juice, nonfat milk, or a soy or rice milk to the blender.  Blend. 

 

Children love smoothies.  Drinking a daily smoothie is a great way to get a good percentage of your daily fruit intake.  And in the winter when it is hard to get fresh fruits just go to the frozen section of your grocery store and select the berries you want.  Frozen fruit is better than no fruits.  And due to their high vitamin content can help you ward off the winter colds and flue season.

 

Mango-Maple-Oatmeal!! 

You will need instant oatmeal, chopped up mango, bananas, pears and raisins.  Follow directions on the oatmeal canister while adding fruit.  When cooked poor contents into a bowl adding maple syrup to taste and non-fat milk or enriched rice milk. 

 

The benefit to making this satisfying and wholesome breakfast, its one of the least expensive breakfast foods you can prepare.  And feel free to make variations. 

 

Purple and Green Salad with Avocado!!! 

All you need is a head of romaine lettuce and a head of purple cabbage, tomatoes, a cucumber and a ripe avocado and raisins.  Simply chop up your veggies and place in a big bowl.  For a great dressing simply add balsamic vinegar, cappers and a good sprinkle of Parmesan cheese to the mix. 

   

When I was little my dad always use to say if you eat a salad everyday you will always have a beautiful complexion when you’re older.  Well I have found that to be true after all this time!  Give it a try.
